historic operatives: plotting and planning

historic operatives
note : these characters are not AU versions of current characters, but rather previous operatives from other periods in time! Please don't AU characters because you'll give the timetraveling operatives headaches.
POINTERS
1. Don't forget to check the history tag to see what kind of stuff has been pre-established!
2. ...That said, there are all kinds of historical events that haven't been sussed out yet but that doesn't mean that people don't already have a few ideas! Put a comment below and see what else other people have in mind.
3. TEAMWORK. The more brains throwing ideas around the more ~drama~ we can come up with. And we all love drama.
4. If somebody has an operative during a time period you like then don't worry! It's to be expected that operative turnover rates would have been much higher in years gone by so chat to other people and see if you can't work out whether one could be a predecessor of another or something.
5. Wikipedia is our best friend.

CITIES AND THINGS
Keeping in mind that the characters being created are not AUs of current characters I'm going to be radical and suggest that even if a player came up with a city title and power in the current timeline, they do not have a monopoly over it in other historic events. Although obviously everyone owns their own characters (personality, biography, appearance, etc.), in coming up with an operative role (power and city title) you have effectively added it to the historic canon of the Order and it should therefore be up for grabs. If you're unhappy with this idea then chat to Shaz and we'll see if we can't work something out!

Powers will have changed over time! The most obvious examples being powers such as technopathy - in ye olden times I have suggested that technopaths had either mechanical understanding (important during times such as industrial revolutions) or some kind of low-level omniscience (that eventually had to be scaled down in to the technopathy we have today).

This is also a good forum for people to throw around some ideas about how Orders were created! Again, wikipedia is your friend.
